Happy 2010!

Love these mismatched earrings from Mociun (and the bright hands, and photography, and pretty much everything on their website).

Fashion requires risks.

The perfect (and surprisingly difficult to master) casual white shirt and jeans combo, with a perfect chunky bracelet...

Forever21 is my go-to store for work dresses (and, well, everything else....except shoes and jeans). This is a current fav on the site. Just grab some colorful tights from their accessories department and a perfect cardi and get to it!

Is There Anything She CAN'T DO??

"Heinously inflated prices, cheap fabrics, 3/4 length sleeves and boat-necks do not have to be tolerated! Say it loud!!!"

In addition to being a guitar player, singer, animator, visual artist, designer, bag maker, critical media reader, and all around kick-ass lady, my best friend is also a "plus-size" stunner who f**kin' hates most of the design out there labeled "goddess," "womens," and any other marketing euphemism for "over size 12." Towards taking down the offensive and simply poorly made, and propping up the awesomely done, she has just launched NonPlus, which she describes as "A size-positive, woman-positive web magazine exploring the heinous & not in the world of plus fashion." Check it out!

Stripes!!!

Both NK and I loved this dress/outfit on the homepage of Forever21 but couldn't find it on the site. She finally deduced that it was one of these skirts with a separate top. While I'm sort of bummed it's not a dress (I always prefer dresses to skirts/tops due to laziness and fit), I'm still LOVING these skirts....and thinking I should learn how to mix patterns....

Affordable stripes from F21.

Happy New Year!

Friends, I'm leaving for India today. I will be sure to take lots of pictures, and try to update as often as I can from there. Start thinking up your fashion concept for latter half of winter!

I used to think these fabric Marc bags were for losers who couldn't afford the real (leather) thing but were still obsessed with Marc - now I realize that I AM that loser. I like the magenta.

Peter (pan collar) Rabbit

I'm going to India on Tuesday, and plan to wear this dress all the time when I'm there. It's by Motel, and I got it from Pixie Market last spring. Since I'm not an idiot, I probably won't be looking as sassified as the young lady above. The material on this one is going to be great for the dry heat. Will wear a cardigan or something over it so I don't look like a ho in the subcontinental context.
Limited edition Chanel polishes coming out in January. Can't say I'm that crazy about any of them.... (the brown is probably my most favorite, tho....)

Love: leather/metal combo, wedge bootie, bracelet, everything.

The perfect messy bun.
I'm sort of lousy at wearing makeup. When I do, I'm impressed by how it looks, and I love reading about it, but I just can't seem to remember to put it on or branch out to be adventurous with it. So about the only thing I do remember, especially in super dry winter, is to put on chapstick.

About a year ago I tried Fresh Sugar for the first time, and loved its lemon-y flavor and moisturizing abilities. At over $22 a pop it's not cheap, but it lasts a few months at a time and is so worth it. That's why I was super excited when I heard Fresh was coming out with a tinted version this fall. The Rose is the perfect level of tint - adds a little color but not so much that it looks like lipstick, and it can still be worn with other shades without clashing. It's my go-to lip stuff now and helps make me look slightly less washed out during this grey season. Thanks, Fresh!

Loud-mouth

I just got Nars matte lipstick in Schiap. This picture does not adequately show how bright this stuff is. I'm not sure that it even looks good on me, but I'm going to wear it all the time anyway. This one is not recommended for people who have a problem looking slightly bizarre.
It works better at night (to tone down the shock), but that didn't prevent me from wearing it to brunch this morning. If you're going to rock it, might as well make it loud, right?

Love this look, reminds me of Portland and the west coast....sigh.

Says"Rise and Shine"

Perfect: casual cardigan made classy, metallic belt, minimal jewelry....stunning.
